Strategic Alliance Between EDGECOM and NAFFCO to Deliver Advanced Firefighting Technologies for Data Centers and Critical Telecom Facilities

NAFFCO and EDGECOM announce a strategic alliance to provide fire protection solutions for data centers and critical telecommunications infrastructure in Egypt
Partnership aims to localize safety technologies, support local manufacturing, and safeguard Egypt’s digital infrastructure
NAFFCO: Egypt is a strategic market witnessing significant expansion in telecommunications projects
EDGECOM and NAFFCO (NAFFCO) announced the signing of a strategic alliance in the field of safety systems and firefighting solutions, aimed at delivering advanced technological solutions to protect large-scale data centers and critical telecommunications facilities in the Egyptian market, ensuring the protection of lives and investments and the continuity of services in line with the highest international standards.
The alliance comes amid the rapid growth of the data center and digital infrastructure sector, alongside the increasing reliance on high-density, energy-intensive systems—particularly with the expansion of artificial intelligence applications and cloud computing—which has heightened the need for advanced risk management and fire protection solutions within mission-critical facilities.
Agreement Signed on the Sidelines of Intersec 2026
The strategic alliance was announced on the sidelines of Intersec 2026, held in Dubai, one of the largest and most prominent regional and international exhibitions specializing in security, safety, firefighting, and the protection of critical facilities
The meeting in Dubai was attended by. Mohamed ElHaddad, Chairman of EDGECOM, and Eng. Raed Qahwaji, Vice Chairman of NAFFCO Egypt, with the participation of Walid Abdel Hamid, General Manager of NAFFCO Egypt, and Ahmed Fawzy, Financial and Administrative Director of NAFFCO Egypt—underscoring the seriousness of the partnership and its strategic importance in advancing safety solutions across the region
Integrated Solutions for Mission-Critical Facilities
Both parties emphasized that the alliance focuses on delivering integrated firefighting solutions based on the latest global technologies, ensuring rapid response, precise handling of emergencies, reduced downtime, and uninterrupted operations for critical facilities—most notably data centers and telecommunications networks
The partnership also places strong emphasis on designing customized systems for mission-critical projects that cannot tolerate service interruptions, whether in telecommunications, digital services, or smart infrastructure sectors
Local Manufacturing and Technology Localization
The statement noted that localizing firefighting technologies and supporting local manufacturing represent core strategic pillars of the alliance, in line with Egypt’s national direction to strengthen domestic industry, increase local content, and transfer global expertise to the Egyptian and regional markets
Both companies clarified that the alliance does not involve the establishment of joint factories or investment entities, but is limited to technical and commercial cooperation, as well as technology transfer and implementation—supporting local manufacturing through supply chains and industrial integration without forming a joint industrial venture
EDGECOM: Transforming Egypt into a Regional Hub for Integrated Fire Safety Solutions
In this context, Eng. Mohamed ElHaddad, Chairman of EDGECOM, stated that Egypt possesses all the necessary components to become a leading regional hub for integrated firefighting and safety solutions
He explained that Egypt has the required expertise, skilled workforce, and infrastructure to lead in this field, noting that EDGECOM already collaborates with Egyptian telecommunications companies to deliver integrated technological solutions that ensure speed and accuracy in responding to emergency and critical situations
ElHaddad added that firefighting systems have become a fundamental component in the design and operation of modern data centers—especially those dedicated to artificial intelligence applications—due to high equipment density and rising energy consumption, which necessitate precise, secure, and advanced solutions
NAFFCO: Egypt Is a Strategic Priority Market
For his part, Raed Qahwaji, Vice Chairman of NAFFCO, said that the Egyptian market represents one of the company’s top strategic priority markets, given the significant expansion in infrastructure, data centers, telecommunications, and digital transformation projects
He added that NAFFCO, as a global leader in the manufacturing and supply of firefighting and safety solutions, is committed to transferring the latest global technologies to the Egyptian and African markets, and to building an integrated safety solutions ecosystem in line with the highest international standards—supporting sustainable development plans and aligning with regional and global trends in security and safety
National Dimension and Egyptian Standards
Islam Saqr, Firefighting Systems Consultant at EDGECOM, emphasized that securing facilities—particularly buildings dedicated to the telecommunications industry—is a national priority for civil protection, given the critical role telecommunications services play as a backbone of the Egyptian economy and a key pillar for the continuity of vital sectors
He stressed the importance of assigning firefighting and fire alarm works to leading specialized companies to ensure the highest safety levels, protect lives and assets, and guarantee uninterrupted operations, while underscoring the necessity of strict compliance with the Egyptian Fire Protection Code in design and execution standards
Supporting Regional Expansion and Energy-Intensive Projects
Meanwhile, Ahmed Fawzy, Financial and Administrative Director of NAFFCO Egypt, explained that the cooperation with EDGECOM aligns with NAFFCO’s regional expansion strategy and with national policies aimed at localizing manufacturing and conserving foreign currency
He noted that the partnership contributes to protecting lives and investments and ensuring service continuity across critical sectors such as data centers, telecommunications networks, and high energy-consuming projects—including infrastructure supporting artificial intelligence application
A Shared Vision for the Future
Both companies affirmed that the alliance represents a strategic step toward building an integrated safety and protection ecosystem for critical projects, driven by innovation and advanced technology, enhancing investor confidence, supporting Egypt’s digital transformation agenda, and enabling the development of a secure and sustainable digital infrastructure
EDGECOM and NAFFCO reiterated their commitment to expanding cooperation in the coming phase and developing specialized solutions that meet the needs of the Egyptian and regional markets, while keeping pace with rapid advancements in telecommunications, data centers, and artificial intelligence
