Octane Launches “O-Tolls”: A First-of-its-Kind Digital Solution for Road Tolls and Scale Payments for Trucks in Egypt
Operational surge with digital transactions reaching EGP 13 billion in 2025

Octane, a leader in digital payment solutions for fleets, has announced the launch of “O-Tolls” in collaboration with the National Company for Road Construction, Development, and Management. This milestone makes Octane the first company in Egypt to digitize payment processes for road tolls and weigh stations for light, medium, and heavy trucks nationwide using Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology.
This strategic move empowers logistics companies and transport fleets with seamless and secure passage through more than 500 gates and scales across the Republic. It effectively eliminates challenges associated with cash management and paper-based expense reconciliation, transforming the transport sector—traditionally one of the most cash-reliant industries—into an integrated digital ecosystem. This initiative aligns with the state’s efforts toward financial inclusion and Egypt Vision 2030.
Through this new service, companies can conduct secure, instant digital payments and monitor all road transactions in real-time. This enhances oversight, boosts transparency, facilitates better financial planning, and improves fleet management efficiency while reducing fraud and waste. Furthermore, it improves the driver experience and minimizes downtime. The strategic importance of “O-Tolls” is underscored by the fact that road tolls represent a major operational cost, accounting for 10% to 15% of the total Operating Expenditure (OPEX) for logistics and distribution firms.

Commenting on the launch, Amr Gamal, Co-founder and CEO of Octane, stated:
“The launch of O-Tolls reaffirms Octane’s position as the largest integrated digital payment network for fleets in the Egyptian market. We are dedicated to digitizing all aspects of vehicle spending to enable organizations to transition from fragmented, cash-dependent operating systems to a unified digital model that provides precise spending insights and improves financial planning.”
He added: “The strong reception, with more than 100 companies joining in the first month alone, reflects the logistics and transport sector’s urgent need for practical technological solutions that elevate operational efficiency and ensure total cost control.”
It is worth noting that Octane, backed by a powerful investment alliance including El Sewedy, Algebra Ventures, and Al-Shorouk, witnessed a massive operational surge in 2025. Digital transactions exceeded EGP 13 billion, and the company currently serves over 3,000 clients, managing the consumption of more than 270,000 vehicles and tracking over 500 million liters of fuel through its smart platform.

Octane’s interconnected ecosystem now includes digital fuel payments, the “O-Store” (the largest virtual marketplace for fleet supplies), the “O-Care” network (connecting vehicles to 300 service centers), and the “Mint” AI-powered smart maintenance app—all integrated with “O-Tolls” as a comprehensive electronic payment solution for road fees.
