Ataa Charity Investment Fund for Persons of Disabilities and the Ibrahim A. Badran Foundation sign a cooperation protocol to develop the foundation’s clinic in accordance with accessibility standards to serve persons with disabilities

In a step that reflects a shared commitment to promoting the rights of persons with disabilities and enabling them to access fair and inclusive healthcare services, the Social Investment Fund for Supporting Persons with Disabilities “Ataa” signed a cooperation protocol with the Ibrahim A. Badran Charitable Foundation, aimed at upgrading its community clinics in line with accessibility standards
The protocol was signed by Ms. Amira El Refai, Executive Director of the “Ataa” Fund, and Dr. Ola Ismail, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Ibrahim A. Badran Medical Charitable Foundation
Under this cooperation, the “Ataa” Fund will finance the implementation of accessibility code requirements inside the clinic, including the construction of a ramp at the clinic entrance and the equipping of restrooms to accommodate wheelchair users, in addition to supervision and follow-up. This comes as part of efforts to achieve inclusive integration in healthcare services
For her part, Ola Ismail emphasized that this partnership represents an important step within the foundation’s vision to develop its healthcare services and make them more inclusive and responsive to the needs of all groups. She noted that the foundation’s clinics serve around 120 beneficiaries daily—approximately 960 monthly—and that nearly 10% of beneficiaries are wheelchair users, who receive services without discrimination
Amira El Refai affirmed that this cooperation is part of an initiative aimed at improving access for persons with physical disabilities to healthcare services with ease and dignity, through upgrading the Osim District clinic in Giza Governorate as a pilot model that integrates accessibility standards within community clinics. She explained that the project aims to provide comprehensive preventive, diagnostic, and treatment services in a safe and accessible medical environment that takes everyone’s needs into account, thereby improving quality of life and strengthening health awareness and social inclusion
