Elsewedy Industrial Development Signs Agreement with New Hope to Establish Animal Feed Plant at Industria Asher

Elsewedy Industrial Development has signed a land agreement with New Hope Egypt, part of the global New Hope Liuhe Group, to establish a new poultry and aquaculture feed manufacturing facility at Industria Asher, the Elsewedy Industrial Complex in 10th of Ramadan City. The new plant will have an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons, supporting the continued growth of Egypt’s animal feed and food production sectors

This agreement was signed by  Ahmed Elsewedy, Group President&Chief Executive Officer at Elsewedy Electric, and Mr. Shao Wen, Regional Director of New Hope Group for the Middle East, in the presence of senior leaders from both companies, marking an important step in New Hope’s expansion strategy in the Egyptian market

Welcoming the partnership, Shao Wen highlighted the role of Elsewedy Industrial Development in supporting the company’s growth plans in Egypt. He noted that the agreement represents the beginning of a promising collaboration that could pave the way for additional investments and new opportunities in the future. The planned facility at Industria Asher will rely on advanced technologies and is expected to become one of the sector’s leading feed production plants, further strengthening the industrial ecosystem within the complex

Building on this outlook,  Ahmed Elsewedy emphasized that New Hope Group’s continued expansion reflects the growing confidence of international companies in Egypt’s ability to attract diverse industrial investments. He explained that Elsewedy Industrial Development focuses on more than simply providing land. Globally, New Hope Liuhe Group is recognized as one of the leading companies in the animal nutrition industry, with operations in more than 20 countries worldwide. The group entered the Egyptian market in 2011, establishing its first poultry feed production facility and steadily expanding its footprint in the country ever since

Today, New Hope’s investments in Egypt amount to approximately EGP 2.7 billion; covering four feed production plants as well as a company specialized in chick hatching. Sales in the Egyptian market reached around 800,000 tons in 2025, reflecting the strong demand for the company’s products across the sector

The new facility at Industria Asher will become the group’s fifth plant in Egypt. Built on an area of 34,000 square meters, the factory will produce poultry and aquaculture feed with a total annual capacity of 400,000 tons. Around 50,000 tons of this output is expected to be allocated for export, supporting Egypt’s role as a regional hub for food-related industries

In addition to its industrial impact, the project is expected to create around 500 direct jobs, while generating close to 10,000 indirect employment opportunities across supply chains and supporting services
