Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) Completes the Zaafarana Offshore Field Development Project in the Gulf of Suez

As part of the first pillar of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy, aimed at increasing production, Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) has successfully completed the Zaafarana Offshore Field Development Project in the Gulf of Suez, operated by Gemsa Petroleum Company (GEMPETCO)
Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) executed the project under an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) contract, encompassing a comprehensive package of offshore and onshore works aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and upgrading the production facilities at the Zaafarana Field. The project reflects PMS’s ability to leverage its technical capabilities in the execution of specialized offshore construction projects
The main scope of the project included the installation and laying of a new 4-inch pipeline with a total length of 18 kilometers, comprising 15 kilometers offshore and 3 kilometers onshore, connecting the national natural gas grid to the offshore Warda Platform
The project also included the expansion of the offshore platform’s topside, in addition to the supply and installation of three modern natural gas powered power generation units, replacing diesel powered units. This provides the required power for operations while contributing to the optimization of operating costs
PMS owned offshore unit PMS 11 Barge participated in the installation and laying of the offshore pipeline toward the Warda Platform, at water depths reaching up to 56 meters, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety
The PMS 17 offshore unit also participated in carrying out the platform related works, while PMS MAYO provided diving and offshore support services throughout the project. This demonstrates the integration of PMS’s fleet units and its diverse technical specialties
The successful completion of the Zaafarana Offshore Field Development Project demonstrates PMS’s integrated capabilities in executing projects under the EPCI model and in leveraging its offshore fleet and technical expertise to deliver specialized offshore and onshore works. This further strengthens PMS’s position as a trusted strategic partner in the development of oil and gas fields and offshore infrastructure
