Saxony Egypt University Hosts High-Level German Parliamentary Delegation to Explore Academic Cooperation

Saxony Egypt University (SEU), Egypt’s largest applied technology university, established by Al Ahly CIRA, a strategic partnership with between CIRA Education and Al Ahly Capital, today welcomed a high-level parliamentary delegation from the German state of Saxony, reinforcing its role as a key platform for advancing academic cooperation and internationalization between Egypt and Germany

The delegation was led by Peter Oliver Fritzsche, Chair of the Working Group, alongside senior representatives from Saxon’s parliament. The visit reflects a shared ambition to deepen institutional ties with Saxony and expand avenues for cross-border collaboration in education, research, and workforce development

Saxony Egypt University represents a unique model that brings German applied education to Egypt, combining academic rigor with practical, industry-aligned learning. The university builds on CIRA’s long-standing relationship with Saxon institutions, an alliance that extends beyond higher education into the K-12 segment through collaborations with Saxony International Schools, creating a fully integrated, German-oriented education pathway. This commitment is further reflected in the expansion of German education offerings across CIRA’s broader school network, reinforcing a comprehensive and scalable German education ecosystem in Egypt

During their visit, the delegation toured the SEU campus and engaged in discussions focused on advancing internationalization efforts, including expanding student mobility, facilitating employment pathways in Germany, and easing administrative and legal processes for Egyptian students. These discussions form part of SEU’s broader strategy to embed global exposure within its academic offering and position its graduates for international careers

Peter Oliver Fritzsche, Chair of the Working Group and Head of the delegation, said: “We were highly impressed by the scale and ambition of Saxony Egypt University and its ability to translate the German education model into a dynamic and locally relevant context. SEU stands as a strong example of how international partnerships can translate into meaningful educational outcomes. We see significant potential to further strengthen cooperation between Saxony and Egypt, particularly in areas such as applied sciences, student mobility, and skills development aligned with labor market needs

 Hassan El Kalla, Chairman of CIRA Education, added: “Our partnership with Saxony is central to our internationalization strategy. Through SEU, we are not only delivering a German education model in Egypt, but also creating real pathways for our students to access global opportunities. Strengthening our ties with Saxon institutions enables us to expand these pathways and further position our students within an increasingly interconnected world
